Pleasure

Pleasure cannot be the top priority, but life cannot be too serious all the time. Hedonism is a trap. Perfectionism is a fantasy. The balancing act occurs over a long horizon, and it accepts that the body is finite and imperfect. The point is not flawless virtue. The point is principled living, with room for genuine rest and spontaneous joy where it naturally arises.

Savor without clinging. High quality experiences are statistically rare in a disordered universe. They are ultimately unearned gifts. To enjoy them fully requires gratitude without attachment. Clinging to precious moments ruins them. Let them come. Let them go.
